I'm in a New Orleans State Of Mind....

With Mardi Gras season in progress my mind keeps floating down to the Mississippi to the infamous Crescent City. I just love New Orleans and I miss it so much. I believe you have two kind of people in this world, those who love Nawlins and those who don't. I'm a lover and fell head over heels for the unique charm it offers. I'm just saddened that the city doesn't have more funding to keep this vastly historical jewel clean. Many only see it as Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street. However, the city is dripping of historical homes filled with gorgeous antiques and lush decor. How I'd love to have a weekend getaway smack in the Garden District or French Quarter.

  2. You are right about New Orleans. It has it's own charm and I love the houses along st. Charles. Sorry about your accident, Gigi. hope you're not in pain anymore....Christine

    1. I'm doing much better now, thank you! I'm just starting to walk on my own. I'm sure you're happy to be back home. Your grandbabies are so beautiful.

  3. I love Nawlins. Its such a shame how the media portrays Mardis Gras...simply with a view from Bourbon St. There's so much more class and fun in the celebrations in other areas of the city.

  4. IT is beautiful. I am glad I got to see more of it this weekend. I didn't even go to the Quarter.

    1. NOLA is one of the places I've never been, but I've wanted to go to for a long time. My college roommate and I used to watch the movie The Big Easy (if you haven't seen it, you've got to!) with Dennis Quaid over and over in the dorms.

  5. When I was teaching in Jefferson Parish, I was lucky that my Mom had so many relatives in the city. Then, a teacher got an apt. in the Quarter, and we gals would go to Carolyn's place once in awhile (so we didn't burn out our welcome, LOL!) Once New Orleans gets into the blood, there's no getting rid of it, a very good thing!
