Downton Abbey

I have a new favorite show that I'm absolutely crazy about. It's called Downton Abbey. A neighbor had told me about it and I've been hooked ever since. I downloaded the first season and watched the entire season while I was on bed rest. I couldn't turn it off. It was as if I was reading a good mystery novel and just had to find out who and what and why?

Downton Abbey is a British program that surprised everyone on how popular it has become. You can find it on PBS on Sunday evenings.

The story takes place in a fictional English country estate called, Downton Abbey. The plot follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants during the reign of King George V. During the first season there are a lot of historical events like the sinking of the Titanic and WWI. It's very exciting and if you love history, like myself, you'll love it. There's also a lot of twists and turns with romance, affairs, family feuds, etc.. The scenery, antiques, and costumes are gorgeous too. Again, this is my favorite show at the moment. I love Downton Abbey and hope they continue to film for many years to come.

  1. Oh my gosh, I love Downton Abbey! I started a few days to do a post on it on my blog. Did you see the actress that plays Lady Mary on the Dave Letterman show last week? She's adorable.
Thanks for posting on my blog. Yes, I have tried shrimp & grits. Its one of my fav dishes! Love Low Country cooking.

    1. Rebecca,
I missed Mary Dockery on Letterman. That's past my bed time, Ha! I'm going to host a Downton Abbey discussion on my blog every week. Look for it. I'll invite all Downton Abbey fans to join in. Perhaps I'll devote Wednesdays to a fan club.

    1. Michelle,
It's a wonderful show. You can watch the episodes from season 1 & 2 online. That way you can get caught up for season 3.

  7. I fell in love with it too about halfway through the season. Now I need to go back and watch the ones I missed. I was sad that the season finale was last week.

  8. I love Downton Abbey! I got into it a bit late, so I only started the first season at the end of December, then skipped a few episodes, and watched all of the second season. NOW I'm going to go back and watch all of season one!
