Ruth, it's so simple. You go onto to the site and sign up. Then you'll click on Create on top of the bar. It'll pop up a board and categories on the side. You can click onto a category (ex: skirts)and you can flip through hundreds of skirts. If you want a black skirt you can type it in the search engine and you'll be able to choose from many black skirts. After you decided what you want, you'll click it and drag it over to your board. Finally when you're finished you'll click post and it will appear into your folder. However, I just learned that it will also post to your blog. I'm going to see if I can stop it from doing that. As I was shocked to come across all my fashion posts this evening.
I'm actually playing with outfits for an upcoming trip we'll be taking. I try to use Polyvore to inspire me to put outfits together from things I already have. :)
