Ladies Tennis Fall League 2012
We went to state and did pretty well. We placed 3rd in our division. I had a great time playing this season but I'm happy the season has come to an end. It will be nice to have some of my evenings free up once again.
My husband and I just returned from a conference over in Dallas. My hubby gave a presentation so I had time to just relax in the room. It was such a treat to just do nothing during the afternoon. I slept in and ordered room service while watching movies. It was fantastic. I can't remember the last time I had such a relaxing trip. We stayed at the Sheraton and I had a great view from our hotel room of downtown.
A picture my hubby took of me before we headed out for the night. I was so excited it was actually cool enough to wear my fur vest. We found a fantastic restaurant downtown off of Olive and Ross Avenue. Great atmosphere and the food was amazing. They serve dishes from Spain, Mediterranean, and India. Fabulous tea too!!! Here's the website if you're ever in Dallas looking for a great place to dine http://www.samarrestaurant.com/about.html
Gigi, congrats on your success at State. That's a big deal, actually, and I'm so proud of you. It's also wonderful your hub got to make that presentation. This doesn't happen to all law students so he must be a 'comer,' also very exciting. My sister dropped out of LSU's law school during her second year. She wanted to have a baby and 'keep house.' *big sigh here* Anyway, she's been forever sorry, was bitter for a bit. And, girl, your photo is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGigi, thank you for your heartfelt words. Candy was diabetic, hadn't planned on this pregnancy. Complications arose with the diabetes. She went into a very brief coma, then passed. It all kicked me so hard I'm just now getting back into being me. But I did Google what happened and, much to my surprise, it's not uncommon for a variety of reasons. So sad this happens.
Anyway, have a wonderful holiday. We were in Lafayette in May. Each time I go I'm amazed at how much the city's grown. I went to then-called USL my first year of college. I had thought it would be fun to to go a bit farther away as LSU was so close. But I missed LSU and transferred for my sophomore year. Haven't been to Dallas in ages, but I filed your info. I looooove afternoon tea and hanging out. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! xo Kittie
Thanks Kittie! I'm pretty excited that we placed #3. Makes me want to work harder next season. Also, thank you for the kind words regarding my husband. I'm pretty proud of him. He's an older student, business owner, and running his business FT while attending law school FT. He's my superhero. It was difficult to go back to school with years already invested into his health care career but we made the decision and realize it was one of those life changing ones we are happy we made.
DeleteI'm so surprised what happened to your sister. I just can't get over it. It must have been such a big shock to you and your family. I'm happy that you did share this on your blog because it gives an awareness to those who were clueless otherwise. Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking news so we can all learn from this and try to prevent another loss.
I love Lafayette. May is a beautiful time to visit that area as everything is full bloom. I would love to visit Avery Island in the Spring when the flowers are in bloom. We are also big LSU fans. We adorn the purple and gold colors during game season.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
XOXO
Gigi
